House, now shop with offices over. late C18 with later additions
and alterations including mid C19 round-floor shop front. Red
brick with gauged brick flat arches and stone sills; plain tile
roof with renewed left side brick stack. 4 storeys, 3 first-floor
windows. First and second floors have 6/6 flush sashes, third
floor has renewed, flush, 6-fixed-light windows; all with flat
arches and sills. owning low coped parapet. Ground floor has
glazed windows with renewed mullions on panelled aprons, canted
in to part-glazed off-centre left entrance a part-glazed door
with margin lights; fluted end pilasters and fascia; further
entrance to right, 6-flush-beaded-panel door and divided
overlight with further similar pilaster to right end.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Nos 25, 26 and 27 together with Nos 31-34 (consecutive) (qqv)
form a good group of listed buildings on the High Street with the
Guildhall (qv).
