GV II*

House. Early C19 with late C19 alterations and additions. Brick
faced with ashlar to front elevation, part hipped part slated,
part plain clay tiled roof behind blocking course at front, and 2
large brick stacks with oversailing detail and pots to rear main
range. Two storeys and basement; front elevation has chamfered
rustication at ground-floor level, band between storeys,
first-floor sill band, modillion eaves cornice; brick dentilled
eaves cornice to side and rear elevations. 2:1:2 bays; central
one breaks forward; all windows are 6/6 sashes; basement windows
are blind; basement and ground-floor windows have voussoirs, the
keyblock of which is dropped; first-floor windows have moulded
architraves, cornices, and brackets to sill band; central
first-floor window has a bracketted pediment, shouldered
architrave and balustraded apron; central round headed doorway,
voussoirs, the keyblock of which is dropped, half-glazed door and
barred segmental fanlight; 2 flights of steps with ornate
cast-iron railings lead up to the door.
INTERIOR: main rooms have moulded cornice, dado and doorheads on
consoles; entrance hall has 2 Ionic columns with flanking antae
at rear, beyond which is a geometrical staircase with wrought
iron balustrade and moulded handrail.

Formerly listed in the parish of North Claines on the 71st list
for the District of Wychavon, County of Hereford & Worcester.
