Probably 2 houses, now 2 shops with flats over. c1800 in 2 stages
of build, with later additions and alterations including shop
fronts c1980-95. Pinkish-brown brick at left, reddish-brown brick
at right, plain tile roof at left and slate roof at right,
renewed central brick ridge stack at left and brick party-wall
stack at right.
PLAN: left house double depth with stair between front and rear
rooms.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 2 + 2 first-floor windows. First floor has
8/8 sashes; second floor has 4/4 sashes; ground floor has 8/8
sash at left; all in near-flush frames and with flat arches of
gauged brick, those to left painted, and sills. Modillion eaves
band. Entrance to left: part-glazed door, the lower panels
flush-beaded, blind fanlight and arched surround. The a shop
front with plate-glass window and renewed Victorian-style
surround, canted in to entrance at right a part-glazed door with
overlight. Continuous shop front to right part: incorporated
6-panel door at left, then part-glazed shop door with overlight,
2 plate-glass windows and pilastered surround with frieze in
Victorian style.
INTERIOR: at left the original winder staircase survives, some
original joinery including 4-panel doors.
