House, now flats. Early C18 with later alterations including
conversion to flats c1980s. Reddish-brown rick in Flemish bond
with flat arches of red gauged brick, stone sills and keystones,
hipped slate roof. L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 3 first-floor windows. 6/6 sashes
throughout, all in near-flush frames and with flat arches and
fluted keystones. Low parapet. Right entrance a renewed 6-panel
door in timber surround and with cambered arch. Right return has
2 storeys with attics, 3 first-floor windows. 6/6 sashes in
near-flush frames with sills and cambered arches. Entrance at
left: renewed double 6-raised-and-fielded-panel doors with
original fanlight with radial glazing bars and arch of red gauged
brick on imposts and with keystone.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms a group with Gascoyne House, Bond House and Brown's
Restaurant, South Quay (qqv) and with St Andrew's Church Tower,
Deansway (qv).
