Hall house, now house. Early C15, altered late C16, C18 and
C20.
MATERIALS: timber frame with brick infill, part rendered, part
encased in brick.
PLAN: rectangular plan with former hall in centre, probably
one framed bay, with a crossing at each end, each of 2 framed
bays; solar on north, service end on south. Small pent-roofed
extension at rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 2 corniced chimneys with clay pots. C19
and C20 casement windows, some leaded. Road (west) front: 3
gables. Left gable has one 3-light window on ground floor.
Centre and right hand gables each of single bay with 3-light
windows. Plain C20 wooden door on right of centre gable. Rear
(east) front: 2 projecting gables with timber frame exposed
and irregular fenestration. Centre section brick with
dentilled eaves. Cambered brick arches over ground floor
windows and garden door on left.
INTERIOR: timber frame partly exposed. Jowled posts: large
curved windbraces; redundant crown post roof. Large sectioned
joists on ground floor of crosswings. Inserted late C16 floor
over former hall, with chamfered joists and lamb's tongue
stops.
