Cottage, now restaurant and public house. C17, altered C18 and
C19, with C20 alterations and large extensions.
MATERIALS: Part timber frame with painted brick infill, part
painted brick. Old tile gabled roofs of different heights.
PLAN: formerly rectangular plan of 2 framed bays, now extended
on left and right and at rear.
EXTERIOR: Part 2 storeys, part 2 storeys and attics, part one
storey. 4 chimneys with clay pots, one on right very large
gable chimney with large weathered base. West (entrance)
front: Irregular with scattered fenestration. Late C18 and C20
casement windows, some leaded others with glazing bars. Centre
section is oldest with 2 frame posts visible. Two, 3-light
windows on first floor, four 2-light casement windows on
ground floor under segmental heads in projecting, flat-roofed
extension, C20 entrance door on left. On left is taller
section with two, 2-light casements in square dormer, single
light window on ground floor. On right is single storey
section with 4-light window.
