Hall house, now public house. c1400, altered and extended C16, C19 and mid C20.
MATERIALS: part timber frame, mostly encased in painted render, part painted render with mock timber framing. Old tile hipped roofs.
PLAN: former L-plan of 2 x 3 framed bays with extension at rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. 3 chimneys with corniced heads and clay pots. C19 casement windows. Open eaves. Entrance (south) front: oldest section on left with single bay projecting gables, formerly jettied. 2-light casement on first floor, range of fixed windows across whole width of ground floor. Tall chimney projecting on left hand return. 3-bay right hand section with small hipped roof dormer to right of centre. 2-light window and 3-light window on either side of first floor. On ground floor large square bay window with 3-light window on either side and plain entrance door on left.
INTERIOR: fine, large sectioned timber frame with large, plain joists have chamfers and stepped stops. Large, jowled posts. Tie beam to middle roof truss is in form of pointed arch, probably with crown post above.
