Hall house on moated site, now house. Early C15, altered C16,
partly encased in brick. C18, altered C20.
MATERIALS: part timber frame with painted brick infill at
rear, part painted brick. Old tile gabled roof.
PLAN: 2 framed bay former hall with 3 framed bay crosswing on
north-east, C16 extension on south-west.
EXTERIOR: 2 storey. 2 chimneys at gable ends, 2 other chimneys
at rear, all with corniced heads and clay pots. Late C16
chimney on right hand gable is brick in English bond and is
now disused. C19 casement windows.
Entrance front to south-west has 3-bay windows. Brick dentil
eaves. 3-light windows with segmental heads and lozenge
pattern leaded glazing. Window in centre has 2-lights with C20
gabled porch below. Oriel window on right at first floor. C20
plank entrance door.
INTERIOR: large chamfered joists on ground floor. Shutter
grooves in former external wall on north-west. Redundant crown
post roof, arch-braced centre truss in former hall with some
sooted rafters. One roof truss has sooted rafters.
