House, now 2 houses. Late C16, with C20 extension and
alterations.
MATERIALS: timber frame with painted render infill. Old tile
gabled roof.
PLAN: baffle-entry plan of 3 framed bays with single bay
crosswing with false timbering.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Single large late C16 chimney with ribs
on ridge. C20 diamond leaded casement windows. Irregular north
entrance front. Single bay gable on left. 2 bay section on
right of gable with 3-light and 2-light window on first floor.
4-light window on ground floor under 3-light window. Two C20
gabled entrance porches on timber bases. Porch on left (Knibbs
Nook) has C20 planked door in original opening, old bench
seat, brick and stone floor. Right hand porch (Wee Knibbs) has
C20 planked door. Left return of crosswing has square oriel
window on each floor.
INTERIOR: most of timber frame visible. Original 4-centred
chamfered door head remains re-positioned at slightly lower
level over blocked opening in dividing wall at ground floor
level between 2 houses.
