Herdsman's cottage, but uninhabited at time of inspection (2003). Late-C18. Coursed stone facade with rubble stone walls to sides and rear and stone cill plate. Pitched slate roof. 2-bay cottage of 2 ranges.
EXTERIOR: Facade of coursed stone with quoins has door to left, large window opening to ground floor and smaller opening above with fragments of window frame. All openings with wide lintel and quoins of chamfered rusticated stone blocks. To right, a small window to left side of gable, then a lower attached range in rubble stone with door opening to right under large stone lintel, and window opening to its gable with stone lintel. Rear elevation of rubble stone with large stone quoins and 2 ground floor openings to main range.
INTERIOR: Ground floor noted to have tall large fireplace with wooden surround. To right, a wooden cupboard recessed into wall. Stair opposite entrance has lost steps but with stick balustrade to first floor. Splayed surrounds to window openings.

Late-C18 herdsman's cottage with well crafted stone walls and interior survival that makes an important contribution to its striking Moorlands landscape.
