559/0/10017 WOODSIDE LANE 22-DEC-04 Lower Farringdon Upper Woodside Farm Cottage
GV II Cottage. Late C18, refenestrated and porch added in C20. Built of brick, now painted with thatched roof, hipped to east and gabled to the west where there is an end brick chimneystack. The original part of the building is of two storeys; two windows. C20 wooden casements in original openings which have cambered heads on the ground floor. Original central cambered doorcase but C20 rendered porch with thatched roof built in front. Weatherboarded lean-to extension to east and three-light dormer to the rear. The interior retains the original roof structure with angled queen struts and purlins and the original internal timber partitions, although the lath and plaster infill has been removed and ceiling beams. Original brick chimneystack visible internally. C20 straight flight staircase. Late C18 farmworker's cottage with original features and group value.
