1924/0/10024 BROOK HILL Norleywood The Hollow
II Cottage. Probably C18, refenestrated in C19 and restored in C20. Rendered cob with thatched roof. The roof is gabled to the east and hipped to the west with end brick chimneystack to the east. One storey and attics: irregular fenestration of C19 casements. PLAN FORM: Two bay end chimneystack cottage. EXTERIOR: South or entrance front has an eyebrow dormer and the ground floor has one C19 casement window and a triangular buttress to the south east. Central C20 timberframed porch with brick infill and a plank door. The west elevation has no windows but a triangular buttress. The rear or north elevation has two c19 casement windows. To the left is a thatched garage of modern date which is not of special interest. INTERIOR: Not inspected.
ASSESSMENT OF IMPORTANCE: a traditional New Forest two bay end chimneystack cottage of rendered cob with thatched roof.
