Reasons for Designation

There are many houses of the C19 and early C20 in North Oxford, and great care needs to be exercised in selecting from among them those which through their design, or historic significance, meet the criteria to be added to the list. While 28-31 St. Bernard's Road is a modest and unexceptional row of houses it is little altered and visually pleasing and it is designated at Grade II. The terrace already stands within the Walton Manor Conservation Area.
