House, now shop with accommodation over. Mid C18, possibly as part of the development 1758-60 of the Duke of Kingston's. Estate, altered early C20. Designed by Thomas Jelly. MATERIALS: Bath limestone ashlar, painted on the ground floor, with pantile roof. PLAN: Double depth plan with rear wing. EXTERIOR: An unusually tall elevation, significantly higher than others on Abbey Green. four storeys, three windows. Ground floor has early C20 timber shop front, with three pane window to left and one pane to right of door. Windows above are all six/six sashes in plain reveals, the second floor windows are smaller. Cornice with cyma recta modillions and blocking course, plain roof, ashlar stack to left on ridge. Rear wing visible to right also has stack with pot, six/six sash. INTERIOR: Not inspected. HISTORY: Both the height and the ashlar front suggest that this house has been re-fronted.
