GV II

Detached house set back above Camden Road. 1806 (deeds), enlarged mid C19. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double pitched slate roof with moulded stacks to gable ends. PLAN: Originally three-unit plan enlarged to double depth mid C19. EXTERIOR: Two storeys and basement to front, three storeys and basement to rear, symmetrical three-window range to front. Low coped parapets and cornices, slightly returned to front with narrow lintel frieze, stopped to rear, six/six-pane sash windows, those to first floor front have balconettes, those to ground floor are almost full height, double three-panel doors glazed to top with wide two-pane overlight. Mid C19 rear rough ashlar with two windows to second floor, that to left has timber lintel over ten/ten-pane sash window with six/six-pane sash to right. Three six/six-pane sashes to first floor, eight/eight-pane sashes flank single storey flat roofed porch to ground floor, probably C20. Each floor has small C20 window close to centre. To left return late C19 lean-to conservatory. Front garden over vaults fronting basement and passage through vaults has door close to street. INTERIOR: Not inspected.
