GV II

Detached Italianate villa. c1850. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof. PLAN: Irregular T-plan, with lean-to extension to east, and entrance porch on west side. EXTERIOR: Two storeys, windows generally twelve pane sash in plat surrounds and on sills with brackets. Main elevation to south has slightly projecting gable to right with twelve pane above tripartite sash, centre light raised, in pilasters, to ground floor, wing set back, left, has paired arched sashes. Entrance front has plain gable to right, and, slightly set back, wing with twelve pane sash above gabled porch with moulded arch on pilasters and impost band. To left broad eaves stack, and gable stack, right. Return gable end has two twelve pane sashes at each floor. Roof to far side continues down over broad lean-to section, set back from main front gable, and with eaves stack at junction with main range. Deep bracketed eaves and gables, and stacks have cappings on brackets. Furthest east of a series of villas set on the edge of an escarpment facing south over panoramic views. INTERIOR: Not inspected.
