BELMONT ROAD, Combe Down (East side) Boundary walls and piers to West Brow
GV II
Boundary walls and gatepiers. Mid C19. Ashlar or coursed stone. At bottom end of road, at its junction with Summer Lane, pair of square piers to deep moulded cappings with blockings and ball finials, with, linked by walling, approx 3m to left similar but simpler pier. Boundary wall continues along whole extent of site, in squared dressed block with plain coping, principal opening has C20 field gate, and two small plank gates included in main run. Boundary walling links group of villas, and important to street ensemble. Plain wall, much overgrown at time of survey (March 1994) returning along frontage to Summer Lane.
