Two houses in row, with shop. Late C18 with C20 alterations. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double Roman tile roof. Very shallow properties, with high mansard roofs and identical frontages, stepped at centre. EXTERIOR: Three storeys, attic and basement, each with two windows, all sashes in plain reveals. C20 wide dormer to No.3 and paired nine-pane sash dormer to No.2, above eight-pane and large sixteen-pane at second and first floors to each. Ground floor has fine original small-pane square oriel shopfronts each side of pair of doors with transom lights, to left in each window four:sixteen:four-pane, and to right four:twenty-eight:four-pane, each with small cornice. Each also has pavement grille under display windows. Small plinth dies to pavement, left, ground floor with broad platband painted, and modillion cornice with blocking course and parapet. Centre and right are coped party divisions with deep ashlar stacks. INTERIORS: Not inspected.
