CHURCH STREET Widcombe (East side) Hedger monument E of the chancel to Church of St Thomas a Becket
GV II
Catafalque tomb. To Matilda Maria Hedger, died 1825, and her sisters. Limestone. Small catafalque with steeply canted sides, on four plain stone blocks, set on double platform. Low pyramidal top has sunk edge panels, and inscription panels have incised margin. East end commemorates Frances Hedger, aged 52, but chief inscriptions are to three young children, Matilda who died at age of 10, John, aged 1 month, also 1825, and Elizabeth, aged 13 days, in 1827.
