LONDON ROAD (North side) Raised Pavement between Beaufort Place and Lambridge Street (Formerly Listed as: LONDON ROAD (North side) Raised pavement to road parallel with Beaufort East, Beaufort West & Lambridge) 05/08/75

GV II

Raised pavements in three sections, ramped at each end. Early C19 altered late C20. MATERIALS: Pennant stone paving and steps, rubblestone revetment walls and wrought iron railings. EXTERIOR: To west, fronting Beaufort West, approx. 100m long, rises to approx. 5m to centre with two sets of steps down to road. Central section fronting Beaufort East, similar without steps. West end of eastern section fronting Lambridge approx. 150m long and 1m high at centre. Six projecting platforms have steps, some with handrails, down to road (possibly former mounting blocks). Toward east end pavement has C20 ramps down to pedestrian crossing.
