Terrace of shops with accommodation over. Mid C19. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar with Welsh slate roofs. PLAN: Double depth plan. EXTERIOR: Three storeys, with single window each to street front, canted corners to Nos 1 and 4, No.1 has window and return blind, and two windows to return on No.4. Shop frontages are all probably original except that No.2 has inserted modern window. Nos 1, 3 and 4 are all good but different examples of shops of their period. Nos 1 and 4 shopfront goes round corner with entrance on canted face and another bay on return. All windows are plain sashes. Platband at second floor level, stepped up from 1-4. Eaves on console brackets, plain roofs, shared ashlar stacks with pots. Rear elevation not seen. INTERIORS: Not inspected. HISTORY: Listed as a cohesive mid-Victorian row, showing the continuing influence of the classical style, with a well preserved run of contemporary shop-fronts.
