Detached villa. Early C19. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof with moulded stacks to the high coped gable ends. EXTERIOR: Square two storey villa with attic storey and basement. Symmetrical three-window fronts to principal elevations; single window range to west, probably later, projects to north side. Shallow segmental arched recesses to central windows, with balconies to central first floor openings with cast iron railings on scroll brackets. Six/six-pane sash windows to first floor, that on left of first floor street elevation is blind. Continuous plat-band. Cornice over first floor has stepped frieze and band above with smoothly curved acroteria carved into attic quoins. Substantial attic storey has three/three-pane sash windows at eaves level to north and south fronts. Three-window returns, margin paned casements to attic. Three-storey left wing is slightly lower, with windows set in segmental arched recess to front and rear; attic window cuts through cornice. INTERIOR: Not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Garden enclosed by coped rubblestone wall approx 3m high, 20m along north front and 50m along Sion Hill to east. At top of hill six-panel door with freestone jambs and lintel with plain simple pediment flanked by plain acroteria.
