GV II

Six terrace houses, some with added shops. Early C19 with late C19 alterations. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar fronts, squared and coursed stone rear, concrete tile roofs. PLAN: Plain range, with double roof to an internal valley, each house entered to left, with stack to right. EXTERIOR: Three storeys, each two windows, all plain sashes except No.1, which retains twelve-pane at first and second floors, and to continuous thin sill bands. No. 6 has original four-panel door under painted over transom light, but remaining houses have had one storey flat roofed shop added to front in late C19. Slight frieze, moulded cornice and blocking course. Coped gables return plain at each end, and six ridge stacks. Rear also has simple cornice and blocking, and each has two sashes at second floor above one to the lower floors. INTERIORS: Not inspected. Included for group value, part of a long series of terraces in this part of the Lower Bristol Road.
