Detached villa. c1825. Attributed to John Pinch. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof. PLAN: Compact block, with contemporary wing set back, right, and central side entry to transverse staircase. EXTERIOR: Two storeys, three+one windows. Central light blind, with trompe l'oeil painted window at first floor. First floor four-pane sashes with margin lights all round, and to ground floor French casements with transom, with raised surrounds and floating cornices, with protective spear head railings. Low pitched roof on deep bracketed soffit, and with ogee shaped diagonal corner brackets. To right, a short flight of steps, panelled door, and sash at each level on front face of wing. Lofty ashlar stack to the rear, right. INTERIOR: Not inspected. HISTORY: One of a series of five villas, set up from the street level in a group here.
