Symmetrical pair of houses. c1820. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof unseen, central stacks to party wall and to ends of central block. PLAN: Double depth plan. EXTERIOR: Two storeys with basements, symmetrical five-window front. Central three windows project slightly forward under coped parapet stepped up at sides and rising to pediment at centre, stopped cornice and lintel frieze, formerly with balconettes to eight/eight-pane sash windows except those to centre which have painted glazing bars and sills to blind recesses. Lower two storey side wings have returned coved cornices (at eaves level to fronts), coped parapets to gable ends of double pitched roofs, ground floor lintels, six/six-pane sash windows and entrances in returns. No.3 to left retains details, has horns to restored windows and balconette to ground floor left. No.4 has vertical glazing bars to horned two/two-pane sash windows and retains balconettes to first floor left and ground floor right. INTERIORS: Not inspected. HISTORY: Part of this highly characteristic Regency suburban development, showing the influence of the Greek Revival on Bath's domestic architecture.
