(Formerly Listed as: TRIM STREET (South side) Nos 11-14 (consec) including No.12A) 11/08/72

GV II

House in row, with shop. Early C18. MATERIALS: Painted limestone ashlar, rubble to rear, pantile roof. EXTERIOR: Small property with low-pitched roof, on three floors, two windows, eight-pane sashes in plain reveals. Ground floor has panelled, part-glazed door to left, C20 multi-pane display window. Thin drip courses at two levels, and plain eaves. Very large rubble stack, raised in ashlar, to right. Rear has staggered sashes. INTERIOR: Not inspected. HISTORY: Modest ceiling heights, and the over-large stack suggest that this may be a refacing of an earlier property. The street was laid out in 1707, on land owned by George Trim, just outside the mediaeval walls, but this building is a later replacement. The street retains its flagged pavements and sett roadway.
