GV II
Six terrace houses. Late C18, now C19 and C20 shops. MATERIALS: Painted limestone ashlar, double pitched slate mansard roofs hipped to ends with raking dormers, some with moulded stacks to party walls. PLAN: Double depth plans. EXTERIOR: Three storeys and attics (probably with basements), each house has two-window front. Continuous coped parapet, cornice and ground floor platband, formerly with six/six-pane sash windows. No.21 to right has panelled pilasters to C20 metal windows and shopfront, six-panel door and overlight to left and some blind windows to right return. No.22 shares moulded stacks with No.21, paired raking dormers have six/six-pane sash windows, plate glass windows below and C20 shopfront with semicircular arched panelled pilasters. No.23 has moulded stacks to right, six/six-pane sash windows, six-panel door to left and C20 shopfront with similar pilasters to No.22. No.24 has truncated stack, two/two-pane sash windows to raking dormers, plate glass sashes below and roundels to consoles flanking fascia of mid C19 shopfront surround with later infill. No.25 has moulded stacks to right, plate glass sash windows, one raking dormer and C20 shopfront. No.26 to left has one dormer, plate glass sash windows and C20 shopfront. INTERIORS: Not inspected. HISTORY: This is shown on Harcourt Masters's plan of Bath, 1793, and forms part of the arterial development of mid-Georgian Bath.
