GV II
House, now offices and flat. c1761-1765, with C19 alterations and C20 additions. Possibly by Thomas Jelly. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, now painted, to front, ashlar and rubble to rear, double pile parapeted mansard roof, Welsh slate to front and rear with coped party wall to right with two ashlar stacks with some early clay pots, former mews building to rear has Welsh slate parapeted roof with coped party wall with ashlar stack to left. EXTERIOR: Three storeys, attic, basement and three-window front. First floor has three six/nine horned sashes in splayed ovolo moulded architraves with friezes and cornices, with pediment to centre, rising from lowered stone sills. Second floor has three six/six sashes in eared ovolo moulded architraves with stone sills with wrought iron balconettes. Ground floor has to right projecting C20 timber shopfront, to left six-panel door with flush beaded and fielded panels with cast iron ring knocker with single pane overlight in moulded and recessed reveal with raised numerals `30'. Panel of glass bricks in pavement to light basement. Two single dormers with six/six horned sashes. Modillion eaves cornice and coped parapet. Moulded lead hopperhead and downpipe attached to right shared with No.31 Milsom Street (qv). Rear elevation partially visible has six/six sash to second floor, two single dormers with six/six and eight/eight horned sashes, long rear extension incorporates former mews building with blind rear elevation.
