Six terrace houses. Early C19 with C20 additions. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, single pitched slate roofs (double Roman tiles to No.8) with double stacks to alternate party walls. PLAN: Single depth plans. EXTERIOR: Two storeys and lower ground floors. Continuous coped parapet, cornice, first floor sill band and shallow semicircular arched recesses to ground floor openings. Original door and window frames are contained within walls and are not visible, some crown glass and few hand thrown chimney pots. No.3 to left has three-window range with two two/two-pane sash windows to first floor, central blind window and blind windows to party wall on both floors. To ground floor six/six-pane sash window to right and C20 door and porch to left. No.4 has two-window range with six/six-pane sash windows and blind windows to party wall, that to ground floor tripartite. To right six-panel door and overlight. No.5 has two-window range with two/two-pane sash windows to first floor and blind windows over door to party wall. To ground floor right six/one-pane sash right, six-panel door to left has blocked overlight with lozenge panel. Right hand light of formerly blind tripartite window to left party wall glazed, below door to passage to rear garden. No.6 has two-window range with two/two-pane sash windows and C20 six-panel door to right. Left hand light of formerly blind tripartite window to right party wall now glazed. No.7 formerly blind tripartite window to left party wall now has late C19 four-panel door, recess formerly containing door, now blind, to right plate glass sash window. Beneath front door is door to basement. No.8 to right has three-window range with six/six-pane sash windows to first floor and ground floor left, four-panel door and overlight to centre, blind window to right with door to basement below. INTERIORS: Not inspected. HISTORY: These houses are mentioned by Egan's `Walks Through Bath' in 1819: `Along the banks of the canal a new range of small neat residences are nearly finished'.
