Detached villa. c1840. MATERIALS: Fine ashlar, slate roof. PLAN: Compact hipped symmetrical block, with extra bay to right. EXTERIOR: Two storeys and attic, three+one windows, all glazing bar sashes. There are two lofty gabled four pane dormers with slate cheeks and shaped jambs, above twelve pane, in plat surrounds and to sills on brackets, with broad square bay, left, with tripartite four:twelve:four pane in moulded architrave, cornice and blocking, raised to slight pediment and panelled at centre, with twelve pane in architrave and with entablature, to right. Central pair of three panel doors are in panelled pilasters with entablature, slightly set back from and lower than adjacent bay. Set back, right, crenellated extension, with twelve pane and panelled door below full width entablature, behind single storey lean-to wing. Principal range has deep bracketed box eaves, with stacks at either side with frieze band to wide cappings. INTERIOR: Not inspected. One of a group of five high quality villas in this road, of differing sizes and designs (qqv Nos 27, 29, 30 and 31).
