Detached villa. c1840. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof. PLAN: With low pitched roof to deep rafter eaves, set back wing to left with outer gable, central front gabled wing with double projection with moulded haunches. EXTERIOR: A picturesque Italianate composition comprising a two storey house. Four windows wide, mainly plain sash, that to first floor has margin pane in plat surround, small plain to pediment, and margin pane with segmental pediment, brought forward gable. To right two storey octagonal bay with pierced parapet and large plain sash. Ground floor has margin pane sash in pilasters with brackets to cornice, triple plain sash in gabled section, and three plain to bay. To left of centre are two arched bays, first with narrow pair of six panel doors to plain fanlight, and to right blind, with small inset arched light, both have moulded archivolts with keystone, and impost band. Quoin pilasters, mid platband, large stack to left, and three to right, with heavy modillion cornices and blockings. Right return plain, and rear has gabled wing above narrow canted bay, with haunched eaves as to front, and glazed verandah over large doors and transom light. Pyramid glazed centre section. INTERIOR: Not inspected. One of series of varied villas of similar date in this road, externally little altered.
