Terrace house. 1764-1770 with C19 alterations. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof. PLAN: Generous town house with double mansard, entrance and staircase to left. EXTERIOR: Three storeys, attic and basement, single bay, all plain sashes, except single six-pane dormer with cambered head. Tripartite lights to second and first floors, latter with arched central light, paired sash to ground floor, and two twelve-pane to basement. To left six-panel door with small transom light, under pediment on consoles, pediment overlapping adjoining property. Two lowest floors are painted, including platband. Modillion cornice, stopped to left, blocking course and parapet. Each side has straight joint full height, right party division coped, with deep ashlar stacks. Rear in two-bays, with two large glazing bar dormers above staggered sash, mainly plain, but including two twelve-pane. INTERIOR: Not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Basement area enclosed by simple railing on stone curb, returned to doorway. HISTORY: The external fabric reveals the staggered building history of the row. Full terrace has broad consistency of detail, with variations in elevation, building in small sections, marked by straight joints, as to right.
