LOCATION: 532675.7, 182255.4
MATERIALS: Portland stone
DESCRIPTION: The monument takes the form of a squat obelisk with a square base, resting upon four stone balls with a rectangular panel attached on one side. Below is a square pedestal with a moulded cap and sunken side panels, one of which bears an armorial achievement (a chevron with three stags) carved in low relief. No inscription is now visible.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: The monument is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons: * It is an impressive example of a late-Georgian funeral monument of a complex and sophisticated Classical design. * It is located within the Grade I registered Bunhill Fields Burial Ground (q.v.), and has group value with the other listed tombs in the middle enclosure.
