History
Swineshead War Memorial was dedicated on Sunday 7th November 1920, at a service held in the nearby St Mary's Church. It stands in the middle of the Market Place close to the site of a C14 cross base and C18 stocks, entered under one List entry at Grade II. The plaques carry fifty names of those who died in World War I, and a further nine were added after World War II. Recently four other names have been added to the memorial, three that were missed after WW1 and one for WW2.
