Mill Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 timber frame with later, mainly early C19, alterations and additions.
Rough cast render on timber frame above tarred brick plinth. Black glazed pantiled
roof. 2 storeys and attic. Off centre ridge stack, rebuilt above ridge, to right;
19C external gable end brick stack on left. L plan: 3 bay range with added rear
wing dated 1803. Early C19 brick 2 storey entrance porch added in front of original
lobby entry. Greek revival doorcase to porch with fluted Doric half-columns and
paterae. Sash window above and gable with scalloped barge boards. 3-light casements
to either side of added porch on both floors with 2 horizontal glazing bars to ground
floor casements and one bar to first floor casements. Ground floor window only in R.H
bay, similar detail. C17 roof framing has windbraces. Rear wing with coped gable,
original 6 pane casements. Applestore on first floor. Single storey brick and
pantile lean-to at rear.
