Summary

A section of wall with gate piers and gates constructed in 1897 for Joseph Lucas of Foxhunt Manor.

Reasons for Designation

The about 1897 wall, gate piers and entrance gates to Foxhunt Manor are listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:

Architectural interest:

* as an ornamental entrance to the main house built in a matching style and materials;

Group value:

* they form part of a group of contemporary structures of the same date and style on the Foxhunt Estate.

History

The entrance to Foxhunt Manor was probably built in 1897, the date of the adjoining lodge. It was probably designed by Frederick Reeve, a land agent from Halland, who is thought to have designed the main house.
