House. Circa 1830s. Stuccoed. Low-pitched slate hipped roof with deep eaves. Rendered side stacks with clay pots.
PLAN: Double depth plan 3-bay house with central entrance and service bay on left.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and basement. Symmetrical 3-bay south front with giant corner pilasters, sash windows with
glazing bars, ground floor 12-panes, first floor 9-panes; central chamfered doorway in elliptically arched recess and with
6-panel door. 2-storey 1-bay on left with parapet, 9-pane sashes and glazed and panelled door.
Rear, north, giant pilasters, three bays, left two bays in 2-storey bow with deep eaves and semi-conical roof above, 12-
pane sashes, ground floor left a later French casement; 2-storey 1-bay on left slightly set back and with lean-to roof.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
A good example of an 1830s stuccoed villa and one of a group of similar houses in Melville Street.
