Abbot's Kitchen at Glastonbury Abbey, Glastonbury, Somerset

This kitchen is situated to the south of the Abbey church ruins. It is one of the best preserved Medieval kitchens in Europe and the only substantial monastic building at Glastonbury. It was built in the 14th century. Each corner of the building contained a fire place. The design of it meant it acted like a giant chimney, taking away the smoke and smells.
