Almshouses, Fox Lane, Leyland, Lancashire

These almshouses were built in 1849. They are a rebuilding of earlier almshouses founded in 1649. They have the inscription "FOUNDED AND ENDOWED BY WILLIAM FARINGTON OF WORDEN 1649 REMOVED AND REBUILT 1849". The original almshouses were 6 dwellings, each person in them received 20 shillings a year and a new gown every third year.
