American Drinking Fountain, Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire
This fountain is shown on an early OS map as 'Shakespeare Memorial Fountain'. It was built in 1886-7 by Jethro Cossins of Birmingham for George W Childs of the United States. It was built to the memory of William Shakespeare and dedicated by the actor Henry Irving.
