The dining room and kitchen of show flat number one at the Barbican site at Moorfields. The 'rise and fall' lamp hanging low over the table was very fashionable. The housing on the estate included flats, maisonettes and terraced houses. The public and communal buildings included; a fire station, coroner's court, a hostel, the City of London School for Girls, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Barbican Centre. The complex was built over a nearly twenty year period beginning in 1962-3. The photograph comes from the John Laing Company Archive.
