Bathampton Street, Railway Village, Swindon, Wiltshire

When the Great Western Railway established its engineering works at Swindon in 1841, a mile from the old market town, the company also had to build accommodation for the workforce. This terrace of cottages in the Railway Village, built in 1842, is plainer than the first terraces built earlier in the year but of good quality.
