Bubwith Almshouses, Wells, Somerset

The original almshouse buildings were built in 1436. This was with money from an endowment by Bishop Bubwith (d.1424). They had room for 12 inmates. They were extended by Bishop John Still's bequest in 1614, and again in 1638. There were further major additions in 1884.
