Buddle Floor at West Basset Mine, Carn Brea, Cornwall

This floor for processing tin ore was erected by West Wheal Basset mine in 1874-5. The floor has the remains of 16 buddles. Buddles are shallow circular pits in which crushed tinstone was mixed with water in order to separate out the tin.
