Buzza Tower, Buzza Hill, Hugh Town, St Marys, Isles of Scilly

This defensive gun tower was built in 1803. It was proposed and designed by Major Daniel Lyman. It was one of 3 gun towers built on St. Mary's by Lyman. All were intended to accommodate 8-10 men and mount a 32 pounder carronade (cannon) at the top. It was restored in 1911 in commemoration of a visit of Edward VII.
