Chesterfield Union Workhouse, Newbold Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Chesterfield Poor Law Union formally came into existence on 19th October 1837. It covered 34 parishes. The new workhouse opened on December 9th 1839. It was designed by George Gilbert Scott and William Moffatt and cost £10,000. The building is now Scarsdale Hospital.
