Chillington Hall, Brewood, Staffordshire

Since the Norman period this estate has been owned by the Giffard family. The present house is the third on the site. In the 12th century there was a stone castle upon the site, a small corner of which can be seen in the cellars of the present house. This was replaced in the 1500s. The current house was built by Francis Smith and John Soane in the 18th century.
