Clare Terrace School, Falmouth, Cornwall

This building was put up as a girl's junior school in 1907. It later became part of Falmouth Art School. It was built in a Jacobean style that was used for many board schools in the early 1900s. Board Schools were built by local School Boards (committees) formed after the 1870 Education Act. The act was designed to build more schools and provide an education for children who had not previously been able to attend school.
