Crickback Bridge, Chew Magna, Bath & North East Somerset

A rare surviving example of this type of small rural bridge that was probably built in the 17th century. It was not built with a parapet on the side because it was intended just for local people to walk across and not for vehicles. It has a cobbled upper surface worn in the centre rather than to the sides.
