A former wire drawing mill dating from the early 19th century and now used as workshops. The owners of the wire mill were the Cocker family. They were also involved in the early development of the crucible steel making industry in Sheffield. The steel was used for making the large wires that were drawn to produce thinner wires. The wire drawing took place in a tunnel under the road. The mill made steel pins and needles and later umbrella frames and bicycle spokes.
